“I allow my jewellery to become structure for the past where it is accepted for what it is, relaxed in the present.
A big concern in my work is the ability for objects to hold their own truths. Can a thing carry and convey something that makes movement possible?
It is beautiful with things that can be kept over a long time. Where time can be measured thru its wear.”

“The sound of embossing is a way for me to not getting disturbed by my own mind; the hammer takes my head to a place somewhere else. I trust my hands to do the work.
Some of them are more apparent and others take longer to recognize. These are those who merge with the wallpaper. If you stand absolutely still you won’t get noticed.”

“With a background as a painter I use paper or the blank metal sheet as a starting point for my jewellery. This foldable material urge for attention and I love its possibilities. Inspired by brittle lichens and seaside barnacles my jewellery becomes a manmade growth that dresses the body. These ornaments with their fragile sharpness bring a need to adapt to what you are wearing and by that enhance the importance of attendance in the present.“

“The concepts of reality and perception fascinate me. I find a lot of my inspiration in science, the exploration of the world, the search for answers and the revealing of new findings. But there are many ways of seeing and understanding the world. Reality is not a constant. It alters with knowledge, with beliefs, with time. In my work I wish to portray this ambiguity of reality, the strive to understand the world, the choice of believing and the acceptance of the inexplicable.”

“My work grows in the process of transforming the material.
With silversmithing -techniques, that involves moving the material and shaping the surface and the form, I make jewellery that moves in a space in between decoration and craft. Craft and form is the base of my investigation of the method as means to reach the artistic expression.”

När jag nu fått chansen att göra en utställning där, har jag valt att visa fem unga smyckekonstnärer från Göteborg, alla utbildade på HDK och med ett personligt uttryck i material och idé.”
